   Ronald A.  Chilcoat

 

Ronald A.  Chilcoat, 77, died Thursday, November 10, 2011.  He was born November 16, 1933 in McCook, Nebraska son of the late Howard and Molly Kern Chilcoat.  Ronald was an engineer with CSX Railroad; he loved his family, fishing and baseball.  The family would like to express special thanks to Friends of Hospice of Nash General.

 

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Chilcoat; son Gene Spencer and wife Lynne of Middlesex; daughters, Gail Hayes of Carbondale CO, and Lisa Sherrod and her husband Eddie of Rocky Mount; brothers, Bobby Chilcoat and wife Gloria of Garner and Dean Chilcoat of Nashville; sister, Linda Chilcoat of Fuquay Varina; grandchildren Alan Pridgen and wife Brandi, Josh, and Heather Pridgen, Jass Hayes, Erin Spencer, Tyler and Carter Sherrod; two great grandchildren, Gracyn Pridgen and Brennan Worrell.

Memorial service will be held 1100 AM Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Hawley officiating.  The family will receive friends at the home, 3257 Bend of the River Road, Elm City, on Friday, November 11, 2011.

In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 551 Macedonia Church Road, Spring Hope, NC 27822.

Mary, Bobby, Dean and Linda. I worked on the Rail Road with Ronnie and Howard. I was raised less than a mile from all of the Chilcoats and am sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
