Harold M. Edwards

 

      Harold M. Edwards, 72, passed away, Wednesday, July 27, 2011. He was born January 28, 1939 in Nash County. Harold was the son of the late Will L. and Stella Joyner Edwards. Harold attended Macedonia Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age and currently attended Northside Community Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing and being with his friends every Wednesday night, where they enjoyed cooking  and socializing over good meals, Harold was a loving father, poppy, brother, uncle and father-in-law. He was known for being a given person. Harold retired from CSX railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Suitt Edwards, three brothers, Bradley, Wilbur and Fred Edwards, brother-in-law, William Powell.

    He leaves behind to cherish his memory, one daughter, Dawn Edwards Lascallette and husband Johnny of Red Oak, one grand-daughter, Meredith Lascallette of the home, one brother, Frank Edwards and wife Carol of Rocky Mount, two sisters, Zelma E. Powell of Bailey, Judith E. Nicholson of Spring Hope, three sister-in-laws, Nancy L. Edwards of Spring Hope, Ernell W. Edwards of Rocky Mount and Ernestine Suitt of Fuquay Varina, several special nieces and nephews and  his dear extended family, Carol Edwards and the men of Edward’s Residential Care, whom he loved and cared for very much.

     Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Northside Community Church, Foyer Fund or Macedonia Baptist Church.

     Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 12:30-2:00PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Pridgen officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
