Nell S. Ferrell

Nell S. Ferrell, 74, died Wednesday, July 13 2011 in Rocky Mount.  She was born March 12, 1937 in Hertford County, NC, daughter of the late Henry and Hazel Stephenson Slaughter. She was a member and secretary of West Mount Baptist Church and retired secretary of Forest Hill Baptist Church in Wilson.

She is survived by a son, Frank Matthews and wife Cindy of Rocky Mount; brother Robert Stephenson of Portland, OR; grandchildren Jessica and Julie Matthews.

Entombment service will be held 11 AM Friday, July 15, 2011 at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum in Wilson, with Rev. Tim Hogan officiating.  Arrangements by Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1052 S. First St., Nashville, NC.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to West Mount Baptist Church,  8487 West Mount Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.

My deepest sympathy to you Frankie and your family.  Nell used to work for me at The House of Stitches and I have fond memories of her.  She called me last Tuesday and I visited with her for about 20 minutes at Wilson Medical.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  Sue Blackwell
