Lee S. Hyde, Sr.

 

Lee S. Hyde, Sr., 68, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 14, 2011.  He was born August 16, 1943 in Nash County son of the late Harold Franklin and Cora Lee Pridgen Hyde. Lee was a retired trucker of 42 years he started driving for Baker Oil in 1970, Evans Lumber Co. for 10 years, and Louisiana Pacific for 10 years and then started Hyde Trucking as owner and operator in 1996 and retired in 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Colbert Hyde; son Lee (Buck) Hyde, Jr.; grandsons, Frankie Lee and Sydney Hyde; granddaughter Angela Hyde; great granddaughter Amirah; two special daughters, Theresa Wyman and Vickie Bone; brothers, Frankie and Wife Carol Hyde and Harold Hyde, Jr.; three nieces, Candi Wachowicz and husband Stanley, Crystal Page and husband Eric and Jessica Hyde; nephew A. J. Hyde; aunts Thelma Long and Caroleen Hyde; mother in law Kattie Colbert; numerous nieces and nephews and his trucking partner and best pal, “Dufus”.

 Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2011 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Coggin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 till 3:00 PM before the service on Friday.
