William "Gero" Joyner Send Condolences
January 15, 2012

William “Gero” Joyner, 95 passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012. Born in Nash County on December 28, 1916, he was the son of the late William Sidney and Ethel Lindsey Joyner. Gero was a farmer by trade and worked for many years at Pete’s Restaurant. He loved to dance, plant tulips and roses, and give out stuffed animals to children at Easter and Christmas. Through the years, he enjoyed his birddogs and would always say his litters were the best! He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dare Nelms Joyner, six siblings and a grandson, Chad Jenkins.
He is survived by daughter, Sue J. Jenkins of Nashville; brother, Sidney Pete Joyner of Nashville; grandchildren, John W. Jenkins, III of Rocky Mount, Kyle B. Jenkins of Enfield, NC and three great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Forest Hills Cemetery, Nashville with Rev. Jason Gault officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Sue, I would like to say how sorry I am. I know that it will be hard since your father lived with you. I know that you will miss him dearly. Just know that we at Nashville Baptist Church love you and will be praying for you. May God give you strength to get through this difficult time.

sorry to here of gero passing when i was working at petes cafe he would come in and we would sit and talk when i was on break or we were slow icooked on the grill and i would fix him some breakfast or lunch he was a very nice man he will be missed so take care he is with god now GOD BLESS SUNSHINE
