Doreen Miller Avent

      Doreen Miller Avent, 65, passed away, Wednesday, May 11, 2011. She was born August 30, 1945 in Nash County to the late George A. and Annie Belle Parham Miller.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh, where she was active in the New Beginning’s Sunday School Class, a greeter, and went on mission trips. Doreen worked for North Raleigh Hilton as Cocieger.  She was preceded in death by both parents and Brother George A. Miller (Al), Jr.  

     She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Mack Lee Avent, Jr. and wife Shelby of Snow Hill, NC; brother Paul Miller of Nashville, NC; sister Joyce Miller Winstead of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, David, Grace, Samuel, and Nicholas Avent; and numerous cousins. 

   Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 1:00-2:00PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions to Resources for Seniors 1110 Navaho Dr. Suite 400 Raleigh, NC 27609 or New Hope Baptist Church 4301 Louisburg Road
