Bruce "Steve" Vick- Send Condolences

December 28, 2011

Bruce “Steve” Vick

Steve stepped into eternity with friends and family by his side on Wednesday night December 28, 2011.  Steve was born November 14, 1959 in Nash County, and was employed with Draka Elevator Products for 32 years.  Steve’s passions in life were his grandchildren, love for the great outdoors, gospel music and UNC basketball.  He was an avid fisherman with Coastal Plain Fishing Club for over 20 years. He and his wife attended Englewood Baptist Church.

Steve leaves to cherish his memory and humble ways his wife Ginny Webb Vick of the home; his parents, Benjamin and Daisy Vick of Rocky Mount; maternal grandmother, Oretha Parker; children, sons, John Paul and wife Christie Vick of KY; Daniel Padgett of NC; daughters Stefani and husband Randy Weaver of PA. And Kristen and husband Josh Barnes of Nashville, NC. Grandchildren, Ryder and Shai Vick of KY, Randee, Carsin, Damian and Jett Weaver of PA; Emma Barnes of NC;brothers, Tim Vick of Nashville, Phillip Vick and wife Martha of Pinetops; sister, Charlotte Blanton and husband Tim of Rocky Mount. There will be a celebration of God’s goodness and glory held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Webb and Rev. Daniel Moss officiating, followed by a visitation at the funeral home.  A private family interment will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Steve would say “thanks” from a heart filled with God’s grace to all his friends and family.  He knew your love and prayers sustained him these last months.  Look close when passing a body of water--- it might be Steve fishing away.

Steve was a wonderful person.  I will miss him very much.

Ginny,
You don't know me. I am a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and we have followed your husband's illness through your Daddy. He has kept us informed. I know that your heart is heavy and broken. I truly know what it is like to lose your spouse. I lost mine in Jan. 2005. When you think you cannot go another step, lean on the Lord, that's the only way to get through some days. I am so sorry for your loss.

Ginny & Family,
May memories of Steve comfort you in the days ahead and know that you are being thought of with caring prayers for a peaceful heart. Steve was very special to alot of people and will be greatly missed. Emma prayed for him every nite before she went to sleep, and was praying for "Papa Steve" on the night at the time when he left to be with the Lord. Our deepest sympathy to all the family.
