Sammy Gorham Joyner

        Sammy Gorham Joyner, 65, passed away Wednesday October, 26, 2011. He was born May 21, 1946 in Nash County. Sammy was the son of the late Samuel and Mallie Joyner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dan, Alvin and Gene Joyner.

      He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years, Susan Speight Joyner, two sons, Glenn Joyner and wife Darlene of Nashville, Frank Joyner and wife Aimee of Wilson, two sisters, Doris Michedo and husband George of Nashville, Elsie Mae Rhodes of Pensacola, Florida,  seven grandchildren, Michelle, Ashley, Bryan, Gabriel, Isaiah, Zechariah and Benjamin, four great-grandchildren.

     A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

My heartfelt condolences to you for your loss. I use to go to school with Sammy, was in boy scouts with him and he came to the house a couple of times.  We've lost a nice guy and we all lose when that happens.
