Hilda Faye Rodgers Boone

July 8, 1949 - June 7, 2022

Hilda Rodgers Boone, 72, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She was born in Nash County on July 8, 1949. Hilda graduated from East Carolina University and went on to serve and retire as an amazing TMH teacher. As a special education teacher, she used her creativity, worked extra hours and utilized her husband’s engineering skills to build individualized toys and activities to make learning fun for her students. She lovingly prepared each of her students for their best life as if they were her own children. Hilda was a talented gardener, painter, and decorator. She excelled at anything she decided to do. Hilda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory, brother, Buddy Rodgers (Lea Ann); sister, Brenda Fisher (Bob); daughter, Nichole Boone Morris; granddaughter, Lauren Grace Morris; life partner, Jim Potter, along with several other relatives and her many friends. Hilda was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Melvin Earl and Lessie Rodgers; husband, Terry J. Boone; and son-in-law, Brian S. Morris. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A graveside service with Rev. Mike Edmondson officiating will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Boone Family Cemetery.
