Hubert Bennard Webster Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hubert “HB” Bennard Webster Jr., 71, passed away July 26, 2022. He was born March 1, 1951 in Wake County to the late Hubert B. Webster and Sara Farris Webster. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Betty Jean Hodge and husband Phillip. HB leaves his wife Dale Webster to cherish his memories and his children Tammy Decker and husband Cole, Brandon Webster and wife Melannie, Brooke Fuentes and husband Joey, Brittany Bulluck and husband Jon; grandchildren Gus Decker, Madison, Bryson, Eliana, Aiden and Nina Webster, Landon, Caleb and Adelynn Bulluck. He is also survived by his brother Buddy Webster and wife Natalie, mother-in-law Dot Matthews, brother-in-law Darrell Matthews and wife DeeDee, and many nieces and nephews. HB started a career as a truck driver where he drove for 13 years. During these years, his go-by name was “Capital City Hippie” where he discovered anything with wheels was his love. His hobby involved anything with motorcycles such as riding, building, and painting them. One day, HB was minding his business on a normal delivery route and stopped at a local country diner in Spring Hope. To his surprise…a young waitress, Dale Matthews, stood out amongst the crowd and he decided to speak the best one-liner that would change his life forever, “Pack your bag baby, you’re coming with me”. After the initial shock of that line wore off, Dale couldn’t resist the handsome, confident man. One of HB’s favorite movies was “Footloose” because it reminded him of his love story with Dale. He was a bit of a rebel with a motorcycle and felt he had to impress her very conservative dad. Pulling up to his future father-in-law with his 18- wheeler and permed hair, he had a feat to overcome. Over time, he was able to win over the heart of his father-in-law and was able to marry the woman of his dreams. HB and Dale started a family soon with Brandon, Brooke, and Brittany. He instantly passed the test of being a good father as he diligently spent time with his kids through sports, gymnastics, dancing, go-kart racing, and doing projects together. As young as 2 years of age, HB had to get his children on a four-wheeler, so he could ignite their passion for motors. With no coaching skills, HB quickly adapted as becoming a coach and pageant dad. He always remained steadfast in finding his children’s talents and pushing them in that direction. HB used his God-given talents to connect with his children and wife as much as he did with others as well. His recliner chair got much use from holding his children through the years to ensure they knew they were deeply loved and honored by him. As his children grew, HB was recognized as the favorite father in the friend group. His house was always filled with teenagers, where he became a mentor and entertainer to many different ages. HB was able to relate with the younger generation and helped shape not only his kids, but their friends as well. As time went by, HB’s children got married, and gave him grandchildren. Pop was known for watching car shows and horse movies. Additionally, the grandchildren quickly learned justice with Pop where they watched Judge Judy for seasons on end. His recliner got much use again as he spent hours embracing and loving his grandchildren. HB will be sorely missed and is loved by all. His love and ability to talk to anyone was a legacy that will never be forgotten. We love you, HB, and thank you for showing us an image of Jesus Christ.
