Joe D. Young (80 years old) passed away into his Heavenly Father’s arms on Saturday September 18, 2021 in Tarboro, NC. He was born October 27, 1940 in Cooper, KY to the late Herbert Young and Lela Young. He was a retired State Farm Insurance Agent in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also served in the US Army as a MP in Korea as a DMZ Zone. He enjoyed playing basketball, golfing, fishing, hunting, family cookouts, dancing and listening to a variety of Country music as well as his favorite artist Neil Diamond. Joe is survived by his wife Virginia L. Young; step daughter Cynthia L. LaRue (Wayne) of Itasca, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie L. Lewis (Brad), Stacie J. Vereb (Michael), Rachael Shane (Kent), Kelsie Bishop, Richard Bishop; great-grandchildren, Magnolia J. Lewis, Samuel L. Lewis, Nicholas E. Vereb, Emilie M. Vereb, Conner Shane, Riley Shane, Alayna Bishop, Joscelyn Bishop, and Autumn Bishop; brother Mark Young (Marilyn), sisters Ann Tanner and Wanda Young along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents; step son Richard A. Bishop; brother John Young; sister Doris Dyer and brother-in-laws Sam Dyer and Bill Tanner. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitehead officiating.
