Lisa Hope Morris Rives

Lisa Hope Morris Rives, 61, passed away January 19, 2022. She was born on Friday May 13th, 1960 in Nash County, NC to the late Robert Meade Morris and Linda Clark Morris. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Robert Morris; her daughter Melissa Cherie Upchurch; and granddaughter Brianna Clark Upchurch. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Nathan Ronald Bass; daughters Kristen Hope Rives and Shannon Dawn Rives; brother Christopher Morris. Lisa was raised on the Morris family farm in Enfield, NC. She was a fierce and protective big sister to her younger brothers, Robbie and Chris. Growing up on the farm cultivated what would become a lifelong passion for animals and nature. Lisa was a true Taurus. She was rebellious and stubborn as hell. She was generous and loyal. Her heart was made of literal gold. She would go on to give life to three beautiful girls. All Libras! There’s gotta be balance, right? She often quoted Thumper’s Rule from the Disney Movie, Bambi. “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.” She reminded us daily to treat others the way that we wanted to be treated. Lisa loved the farm, summertime thunderstorms, reading, and camping at Kerr Lake. In addition to family, two of her greatest loves were music and animals. With Lisa by your side at a concert, you were guaranteed to have a good time! She was also a caretaker to many cherished pets throughout her life. Rescuing countless animals from birds and bunnies to bottle feeding litters of kittens and puppies. Lisa’s superpower could not be seen. Instead she gifted us all with a sense of love and acceptance just the way we were. She was a mama to many. The immediate family will hold a private memorial at the Morris family farm in Enfield, NC.
