Myrtle Irene Baker Tant

April 28, 1931 - February 16, 2022

Myrtle Irene Baker Tant, 90, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, February 16, 2022. She was born April 28, 1931 in Nash County to the late Jessie and Mamie Parker Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lemuel Tant. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter Kay Tant Rhew (Allan); sisters Eula Southall and Peggy Pendleton; grandchildren Bryan and Cliff (Candy) Rhew; great-grandchildren Madelyn and Ethan Rhew, Allison Tuck and a host of nieces and nephews. A special Thank you to caregiver, Lauren Soles. Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, February 21, 2022 from 1:00-1:45pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitley officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with special speaker Teresa Davis.
