Pattie Dozia Collins

December 14, 1935 - December 19, 2021

Pattie Dozia Collins, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2021, surrounded by her family. Dozia was born in Franklin County, December 14, 1935, daughter of the late William Council Coley and Bonnie Myra Coley. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Scruggs (Mike) and Jaquelyn Skinner (Brett); son-in-law, Joe Bottoms (Jenny) and daughter-in-law Sharon Collins; grandchildren, Ryan Collins (Shannon), Brooks Collins, Bonnie Mallory (Todd), Ben Skinner (LaTisha), Mollie Jenkins (Tyler) and Myra Skinner. She had seven great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Collins; son, Michael Chorey Collins and grandson, Joseph Christopher Bottoms. Dozia was a faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a dedicated member of the Luncheon Pilot Club and a Meals on Wheels Volunteer. Dozia was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was devoted to her family and cherished each and every moment in which she was able to spend with them. The family wishes to thank all the Doctors and nurses at Nash UNC Healthcare and the kindness and help shown by Community Hospice. Also, a special thank you to Ryan and Shannon Collins for being her caregivers for several years. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Doctor Jody Wright officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. – 1:45p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 2479 Hurt Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
