William "Billy" David Strickland, 51, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022. He was born July 2, 1970 in Edgecombe County. Billy served Nash and Franklin County EMS and Stony Creek Rescue Squad for more than 30 years. He was most recently employed at Octapharma Plasma. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Lester “Pete” and Mamie Ruth Taylor; paternal grandfather, Armie Frank Strickland; mother, Joyce Taylor Robbins; his Aunt Iver “Tootsie” Taylor and his son William Alex Strickland. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 17 years Pat Strickland; step-children, Sharon Warren Kennedy and Scott Warren; father, Dr. Jim Strickland; brothers, Jim Strickland, Douglas Robbins (Machelle), and Jeff Strickland (Amy); aunts, Dianne Strickland Wallace (Gregg) and Janet Strickland Keel; grandchildren, Emma Reese Proctor and Sebastien Graeme Khayyam Kennedy and one very special cousin, Barbie Crews (Jay). A visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the Chapel at 6:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation P.O. Box 68 Bahama NC. 27503.
