Dylan Daniel Vick

Dylan Daniel Vick, 18, passed away October 5, 2023. He was born October 7, 2004 in Wake County. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald Ray Vick Sr. and uncle Daniel Ray Ensley. Dylan leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Don and Sandi Vick; sister Michaela Vick and fiancé Eric Bolick; grandparents Hilda Vick, Jill Mason Ensley and Gyon Caton Ensley. Dylan was a friendly, loving person who never met a stranger. Dylan loved meeting new people and telling everyone he met about his hobbies, which he had an enormous passion for. Dylan was a successful bowler, and he participated as a member of competitive leagues at Westview Lanes. Dylan’s team won the 2022 Wilson Police Department’s PAL Bowling Tournament, as well as the annual 2022 Puppy Bowl tournament, which was always one of Dylan’s favorite events. Dylan was also a talented, licensed drone pilot, and loved capturing aerial photos and videos. As a member of Westmoreland P.H. Church, Dylan enjoyed going to church and was supported by a wonderful church family there. Garden tractor pulling was Dylan’s oldest hobby, and certainly one of his favorites. Dylan devoted countless hours to working on his tractors to prepare them for competitions, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Having family in Oriental, NC allowed Dylan to develop a love for the coast as well- he loved attending sailing camp, going for boat rides, and driving around town in his grandparents’ golfcart. As someone who always wanted to be helpful to others, Dylan was always there to jump in to try and fix something when someone was in need. Dylan enjoyed doing all sorts of mechanic work with his father, and loved riding rollercoasters and going to movies with his mother. Each week, Dylan looked forward to going to lunch with his grandmother and his great aunt. Dylan loved his sister dearly, and was looking forward to her upcoming December wedding, as he had a special part in her ceremony. All who knew Dylan couldn’t help but love him, and all who knew him will forever miss him. A visitation will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. The service will follow at 6:00pm in the chapel with Rev. Jerry Nelson and Rev. Ricky Nelms officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Oriental Cemetery, Oriental, NC with Rev. Alfred Tyson officiating.
