Georgia Anne Green Parham

Georgia Anne Green Parham departed this earthly home for her eternal home in Heaven on January 21, 2024 in her sleep— just as she always said she would! She was born on February 22, 1942 to the late Raymond and Mary Mitchell Edwards Green. She was a fiercely devoted Mama to her two sons, Robbie and Michael. She joked about how they took years off of her life when Robbie drank kerosine and Michael lost part of his finger in the back door. Robbie and Michael brought her two daughter-in-laws, Anne and Rhonda. The two Anne’s loved to talk about the CBS Soaps and were often mistaken for being mother-daughter. Gram would brag to everyone that Rhonda made the best pot of clam chowder and berry jam she had ever tasted. That says a lot coming from a wonderful cook like her! In 1980, while working at Phillips Fibers as a color lab technician, she agreed to go out on a date with the “Young Robert Redford Look-A-Like” (his words, not hers!) who would eventually become her husband, Richard Charles Parham. The two of them referred to each other as “Ricky Boy and Annie Poo.” They spent the last 44 years aggravating each other, but being thankful and grateful to have each other. Their love truly is one for the books! Together, they have two grandchildren, Kristen and Robert-Michael, who were the apple of her eye. She loved being a Gram and spoiled them both “so rotten they stink” as she would say quite often. She is also a great-grandma to Ava and Alex who were the absolute joy of her life. She enjoyed teaching them to cook, singing and dancing with them, and was their best friend. In addition to her family mentioned above, she leaves behind her sisters, Jo, Dot, Nancy and Judy and her brothers Bruce, Eddie and James. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Lee. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Georgia was a huge animal lover and was looking forward to seeing her fur babies in heaven, Griswald, Scoot and Gypsy. She leaves behind her newest fur baby, Ozzie, who misses her as much as the rest of us. In true Georgia fashion, she requested no services be held as she didn’t want anyone sitting around crying over her. Instead, she wanted everyone to know she lived a wonderful life full of so much joy and love and to smile knowing that she was still calling the shots even after she passed!
