Patricia Faye Bass Tedder

Patricia Faye Bass Tedder, 81, formerly of Wendell, NC, passed away at Wilson Medical Center early Sunday morning June 11, 2023. She was born November 23, 1941, in Wilson County to the late Rev. Alvin Willie and Betty Creech Bass. At the age of 16, Faye married her sweetheart, Marion V. “Mansy” Tedder on April 4, 1958, and lived in the Rolesville/Wendell area most of their marriage. They had just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary three months before Mansy’s death July 4, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers, Alvin Ravone Bass, Sr. (Janice), Jerome “Joe” L. Bass (Doreen), Richard “Ricky” G. Bass (Jenny); two sisters Debbie Bass (Bucky) and Teresa B. Patton (Keith); and several nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Faye possessed a very outgoing personality and was never at a loss for words. She was always open, honest, and felt free to inform you of her feelings and beliefs on any given subject. Faye also had a sense of humor, which made her conversations entertaining. Her personality made her an excellent hair beautician and a food sample cook at Sam’s Club. Both jobs required working with the public skills which came naturally to Faye and her customers loved her. Before these two jobs, Faye was a seamstress at Sampson Manufacturing in Wilson and at Devil Dog Manufacturing in Zebulon. Faye enjoyed maintaining a clean house and immaculate yard. She loved cooking and often shared her delicious recipes with others. When Faye was not busy around her home, she would pack up and travel to her camper in Emerald Isle, NC. She enjoyed the sun and spending time with her many friends at the campground. After working during the week, Mansy would join her on the weekends and try his luck at fishing. They enjoyed the beach life. Faye was very talented at making crafts and made some beautiful things over the years. Family and friends were often recipients of her handmade crafts which will forever be cherished. Unfortunately, arthritis robbed her of this joy and it was replaced with reading, which was another joy of hers. In addition, she enjoyed word puzzles and was quick at solving them. During the last years of her life, Faye experienced many health issues but would always overcome them. Eventually, it just became too much and the pain was nonstop. Today, the family is comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain and is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on June 13, 2023 at Wilson Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wilson, NC.
