Cora Alice “Nana” Clark (née Coggin), age 102, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family, in Nashville, North Carolina—the same town where she was born on January 5, 1923. Exactly the way she always wanted it. Her long and beautiful life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring love, and the joy of family. Cora was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She leaves behind her three children: Enterest “Winkie,” Sara, and William “Fenner,” along with their spouses George, Rob, and Teri. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren—Jonathan, Kelly, Corey, and Bill—and their partners Ankur, Terry, Cheyanne, and Scarlett. She was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Davis as well as several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Cora’s heart and home were always open to those who loved her family; and she welcomed them as her own. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 43 years, Billy; her sister Peggy; and her brother Ed. Cora lived a life rich in experience and grounded in love. She found joy in simple pleasures—gardening under the Carolina sun, reading quietly by the fire, sewing and mending thoughtful gifts for those she cherished. She had an adventurous spirit that defied expectations: she parasailed in her seventies and crossed the swinging bridge at Grandfather Mountain in her eighties. Her travels took her across the United States, Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean—but no matter how far she roamed, it was time spent with family that meant the most to her. Her proudest achievement was not found in accolades or possessions but in the family she nurtured with unwavering grace. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother—and always “Nana”—she led with gentle wisdom and quiet kindness. Her presence brought warmth to every room; her smile offered comfort without words. Cora saw beauty in all things and all people. Her legacy is one of inclusion and compassion—her door always open to friends old and new. Those who knew her will remember cozy evenings by the fire with hot chocolate in hand and laughter echoing through the house. In every season of life, she chose love above all else. We honor Cora’s memory by carrying forward her example: sharing warm smiles freely and embracing each day with quiet adoration for the world around us. May she rest not in silence but in the eternal hum of the beauty she created during her time on earth. Her graveside service will be Friday November 7th at 3:00 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville, NC.
