Evelyn Bowden Medford

Evelyn Bowden Medford, 79, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born in Nash County to the late Joseph and Ella Blanche Edwards Bowden. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Randy Medford and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Medford. Evelyn loved her family so much she was very faithful in her faith. She loved making porcelain dolls that were beautiful and she was a very crafty person. She was a dedicated member of Parkwood Baptist Church. Her favorite TV shows were General Hospital, Young and the Restless, Dancing with the Stars and Greys Anatomy. All of her grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss her as much as her children will. Evelyn was a very strong woman and had quite a way about her. She was known for her strength and firm hand in guiding her family when needed. She will be definitely missed by all. She is with her loved ones who have gone ahead of her. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Cloninger(John Jr.) and Betty Outlaw(James); sons, Danny Richardson, Allen Richardson(Virginia), Keith Medford(Brenda), Scott Medford and stepson, Billy Medford; grandchildren, Venus Jackson(Paul), Millie Vierheller(Kurt), Jennifer Bunn(Brandon), Angela Dunbar(Steve), Kenneth Richardson, Daniel Medford, Victoria Medford, Jason Richardson, Jonathan Richardson(Jennifer), Derrick Medford, Cody Medford, Noelle Bowden, Jozailyn Bowden, Ciera Medford, Tori Medford, Brent Medford(Bee Angel), Jamie and Jesse Outlaw; great grandchildren, Mary Jackson(Joshua Griffin), Sammie Jackson, Paul Jackson Jr.(Arianna Jackson), Hayden Bunn, Anne Vierheller, Ashley Vierheller, Justin Stone, Bradley Stone, Savannah Larwa, Madison Dunbar, Dominick Richardson, Cody Outlaw and Hannah Outlaw; great-great grandchildren, Brantley Lee Griffin; brother, Wilbur Bowden (Connie); niece and nephews, Dwayne Bowden, Rusty Bowden, Ella Bowden, Ashley Danielle Bowden, Phillip Bowden, Edward Earl Bowden(Beth), Chrystal Bowden, Amanda Bowden, Dominique Bowden, Makayla Bowden and Alexander Bowden. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Parkwood Baptist Church on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the family cemetery located at Furny Hall Drive, Momeyer, NC. The family will be meeting other times at 4888 Pine St. Battleboro, NC 27809. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Nash General or to Parkwood Baptist Church in her honor.
