Julian Eric Jeffreys

Julian Eric Jeffreys, 76, of Nashville, NC, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the Veteran’s Affairs Health Care System in Durham, NC with his loving wife and daughter present. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00- 3:45pm and a memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 4:00pm at Nashville Baptist Church in Nashville, NC. He was born on December 26, 1948, in Nash County, North Carolina. He was raised on the family farm in Spring Hope, NC by the late Julian Berry and Maggie Hicks Jeffreys. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Angela Bell Jeffreys, his daughter, Erica Jeffreys Lowery, his grandsons, Justin Bobby and Andrew Tyler Weathers, his brother, Tommy Jeffreys (Sheila) and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, a great-niece and many cousins. SGMR Eric Jeffreys was an honorable man who loved his family, friends and his country. He served in the United States Army for over 26 years retiring as a Sergeant Major with many honors. During his military career, he was awarded the following decorations, medals, citations and ribbons: Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon (4 awards), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Infantryman Badge, and Master Parachutist Badge, and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge. After retiring from the Army, he worked for NC State as a Corrections Officer at Nash Correctional Institution for 8 years before his final retirement. Eric had many passions and hobbies during his life. An avid hunter, there wasn’t a white tail deer that he didn’t like to meet. During his life, he enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, traveling with his wife, teaching his grandsons how to shoot, spending time with his friends and family, reminiscing about the good ‘ole days with his Army buddies, being a proud member of the American Legion and gaining his distinction of Master Mason and being a member of the Morningstar Lodge #85 in Nashville, NC. His most accomplished thing in his life, however, was being a man of God. He loved his church, Nashville Baptist Church and his church family. As his family, we rejoice in knowing that he is with his Heavenly Father.
